Information You Send Us
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that operates the result tool. Our own servers do not keep a copy of those search entries. If you email or message us, we receive the contents you choose to send and use them to respond to that request.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and time stamps. Those logs are used in aggregate to keep the pages working and understand general traffic. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar tools when those services are enabled.
How the Information Is Used
The limited information supports site operation, error repair, traffic counts, and page improvements. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from the information described here.
External Portals and Links
Pages link to Southington and Connecticut records portals, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools. Each outside service has its own privacy policy and controls what it does with information submitted there. The same rule applies to the sponsored results supplied by another company.
Who May Receive It
Hosting and support providers may process the technical logs needed to run the pages. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. Disclosure may also occur when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, the information is not shared as a visitor list.
Security and Retention
The connection is encrypted, and technical logs are retained only for as long as the purposes above call for them. There are no site accounts, so this service does not hold a visitor password or personal profile that could be exposed here.
People Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from someone under 18. If a minor has sent information, use the Contact page so it can be reviewed and removed.
Your Connecticut Privacy Rights
The Connecticut Data Privacy Act, C.G.S. chapter 743jj, can provide access, correction, deletion, portability, disclosure information, and opt-out rights for covered personal data. Government records, public records, and other exempt data are treated differently under that law. Because this reference stores very little, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. A Town Clerk, court, voter, assessor, or vital record is controlled by its own custodian, not by this reference.
Policy Changes
When this policy changes, the revised text will be posted here. Continuing to use the reference after an update indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
